I've already noted the visual thesaurus in a previous entry. But now the whole area of visualization or Infoviz seems hot. When Download file">the Economist features it, you know that something is going on. They highlight a number of interesting companies: Groxis, with its Grokker; Antarctica, with VisualNet; Panopticon, with heat-mapping; Inxight, with SmartDiscovery; and of course, Plumb Design with its visual thesaurus.
